Testimonials

I have been training with Ian Feuer for almost seven years and every time I see him I have my eyes and ears open because I learn something new and valuable.  Ian’s training goes beyond the soccer field and provides a great deal of mentoring and teachings of all aspects of life.  I have not once questioned Ian’s ability to give me with the very best in soccer knowledge.  But the best thing I’ve seen from Ian is the opportunity he bestows to so many young and aspiring athletes.  I have had the great pleasure of working alongside Ian and have witnessed the progression of each and every one of his clients.  The potential knowledge that can be learned from Ian is limitless.  Not only is Ian a tremendous coach, but a true friend and mentor.

Ian Feuer is a rare thing: a master teacher. For most of us if we are lucky, we find one teacher who so totally transforms us that it impacts our life permanently. Ian Feuer is that sort of coach. While Ian has broken down the complex position of goalkeeper into a science, teaching the athlete to be incredibly efficient and prepared for all contingencies, he doesn’t just teach goal keeping. He also teaches mental ability and strength, work ethic, focus and discipline, all things that will benefit his students far beyond their days on the pitch.

One of the best things that happened to my daughter was meeting Ian Feuer.  As a goalkeeper himself, he understands not only how to coach, but also what it's like to be a goalkeeper.  His calm demeaner, thorough understanding of the game and what situations may come up, and great teaching skills make him one of the best coaches I have met.  He teaches how to learn from mistakes without ridiculing or belittling.  It has been a very positive experience working with Ian.

Since day one, Ian has without question been a professional, teacher, motivator to our son Jeremy.  Ian not only teaches technique but also displays amazing care and concern when training Jeremy.  Ian’s enthusiasm to teach all aspects of playing a sport are refreshing and rare these days since so many times we all witness coaches and trainers focus on the negative versus the positive in players.

Jeremy truly loves, attending his sessions every week with Ian since he walks away every session with not only knowledge of the game of soccer but also how to conduct and behave oneself in sports setting in a professional manner.  Many times this is missed.

I have yet to meet a parent/trainer/coach that displays all the levels of professionalism that Ian has from the first meeting that we had with him to the weekly sessions Jeremy has with him.

We are very happy to see the growth in Jeremy in his skills, attitude and love of soccer.

We cannot thank Ian enough for his dedication to teaching all the skills needed in a keeper as a player and sportsman.

Last a HUGE “Thank You” to his wife and family for allowing him to teach our kids! Without her support none of our players would be able to have the benefits of having Ian train our kids.

I have been going to Ian for about six years now, and from my shot-stopping and distribution to my overall outlook of the game, Ian continues to help me a tremendous amount. Ian’s techniques are what make him excel as a goalkeeper coach. Not only does Ian train you physically, he trains you mentally.

While most other keeper coaches just drill hundreds of balls at you, Ian stops and analyzes every little move you make. This is extremely helpful because it allows you, the goalie, to understand why you didn’t catch that shot upper-v, or why you didn’t save that one on one. Ian has taught me that mental skill is just as important as physical skill.

Ian teaches from goal-keepers perspective, actually a seasoned English Premier League goalkeeper’s

perspective. His experience and insight shows during every session

Training with Ian has helped my game immensely as a pro. In one month of training with Ian my ability progressed faster than training with anyone else. I believe he is one of the top gk trainers in the country. He brings knowledge discipline and experience to the training environment while keeping it enjoyable.

                                                                                  -Josh Saunders    M.L.S. Goalkeeper

First off, Ian is a genuine nice guy. He's one of those people who always asks how the holidays went or how your team is doing with true interest. He is willing to sacrifice time and energy even after training to help me progress towards the next level. His dedication to his students is incredible. I am very happy to say he's a friend of mine, and I know many of his students can attest to that.

Ian is one of those coaches who knows exactly what he's doing all the time, but never acts as if he's better than you. He keeps pushing you without screaming. In every drill he does, he can pick out the tiniest mistakes in technique that you may think are insignificant, but when you do it the right way, it makes a world of difference. His favorite saying is "Very good! But not perfect. You can do this, this, and this to make it better."

His knowledge of the game is unparalleled. He can teach anyone anything about soccer if they are willing to learn. Since I have been going to Ian, (which is only about 5 months) my technique and ability to keep the ball out of the net has skyrocketed. My bad habits and my mental mistakes are diminishing. But most of all, my confidence has soared. He teaches you not only the physical aspects of the game but the mental part too. Because he teaches all the different situations in training, you know exactly what to do in the game without hesitiation. It is incredible to see how much my coaches say to me "Wow where did that come from?" I always have one answer. "Ian Feuer"

I put my career and development in ian's hands from the age of 15 to 18. He helped prepare me not only for division one soccer but everything that has come thereafter. He has helped develop me into the keeper i am today.

-Chris Seitz- M.L.S. and US National Team

Training with Ian has definitely been an integral part of my development as a keeper. His training is completely different from most other keeper training sessions. While most coaches aim to make the keeper tired by having them jumping over trash cans and doing somersaults, Ian's goal is to enhance your knowledge of the game and of the technical aspects of the keeper position. Even after almost three years of training with him, I still feel like I learn something new every time I leave.

One of the best things about Ian's training is that it gives you the ability to train yourself. When I make a mistake, the first thing he asks is, "What did you do wrong?" . This gives me the opportunity to think about the mistake I made, and to figure out how I can correct it myself, but whenever I can't figure it out, Ian is always able to correct me. Now every time I get scored on in practice I think to myself, what did I do wrong? And usually, thanks to Ian's training, I can figure it out; I can become my own coach when Ian isn't there to correct my mistakes. I know that without Ian's training, I would not be the keeper I am today.

Another great part about Ian's training is that he is one of the best motivators I have seen coaching. Even if I am having a bad training session and I am just off, he is quick to pick out the positive, and then correct the negative, which helps me to learn from my mistake and focus on the next thing. One of the greatest effects that a training session with Ian has on me is that I feel more confident in my abilities after I leave. I feel like if I play my best, and use everything Ian has taught me, I won't get scored on. The mental preparation that Ian provides to me is equally, if not more important than the technical knowledge he imparts on me from his years of professional experience.

Basically we asked our son Jake what Ian has done for his game, and the answer was “He’s helped me with everything. All of his coaches have commented on how he is a much stronger, and more confident keeper. The difference between last year and this year is unbelievable!”

Ian coaches my 12 year old son.  Look at his website and video, and, you see a “larger than life” character who is obviously a skilled goalkeeper.  Train with him and you get a very capable teacher who breaks skills down, teaches strategies and technical excellence.  I expected that.  What I didn’t expect is the integrity and kindness he brings to each session.  He is encouraging and passionate about sharing his knowledge and never talks down to or loses patience with his students.  It is heartwarming to hear him share tips on dealing with difficulties, staying motivated in practice, how to conduct yourself in a tryout, etc… He makes you feel that your child’s positive experience is the most important one ever!  Ian is a “keeper” on and off the field.

I am a Division 1 Goalkeeper at Creighton University.  We lost in the elite eight this past year and are hoping for an even better season next fall.  Thankfully, I have been given the opportunity to participate on such a great team.  However, it does not come by luck or chance.  A large part of it is down to the training, both mentally and physically, that Ian put me threw.  Although I only trained with him for six months prior to leaving for college, I can easily say that his wealth of knowledge honed my game in such a short time, that it took him half a year to teach me what it takes other trainers two years to instill in their goalkeepers.  It was such intense and quality training that he could produce situations that were identical to games.  So, when you have the same situation that you trained for happen in a game, it does not seem foreign.  The most important aspect of Ian, is that he is not there for the paycheck or because he has to be there.  He is there because he wants you, the goalkeeper, to succeed.  It is most evident in his training because he imparts a certain knowledge upon you that you would have never have thought of before.  He does not have to critique every play that you make.  He doesn’t have to tell you that he noticed your left hand was a little out of position or that if you eliminate that step backwards before you move forwards you will get to that ball.  Nevertheless, he does tell you all these things because it will improve your game.  His style and regiment through one hour of training is very informative and essential to becoming a better keeper.  Every practice there is something new that you can learn about life and soccer.  The feedback is what allows you to become great.  Thanks to Ian, I am playing college soccer at a very high level and I aspire to move on to the next level when it is my time.

Ian Feuer is an amazingly talented and proficient goalkeeper with an

intense passion for his sport, but his real talent rests in his ability to

communicate directly and positively with his charges.  Rarely does one encounter

so much skill and grace in one individual.  He has an uncanny ability to

comprehend what areas need work and how to work with the talent of a particular

individual to improve skills and build confidence. His clear and thoughtful

instruction helps the student see direction and purpose.  He is able to "break

down" areas of difficulty into workable steps towards successful outcomes.  He

not only clearly explains the "how" of goalkeeping movement but also the "whys"

behind the moves so the individual understands the reasons behind the actions

and thereby works to improve judgment as well as skill.  Yet, more than

anything, I am extremely grateful to Ian for helping my daughter gain confidence

and a positive attitude which allow her

to not only enjoy goalkeeping and soccer but also to enjoy working hard and

improving. She has come away with incredible life lessons
